MPC Associate
Rezart Hoxhaj is a research fellow at the Migration Policy Centre. He is an economist whose topics of interest are development economics and international factor mobility, in particular migration and FDI. His current research in the migration domain explores immigrantsâ expectations, skilled immigration and integration/assimilation in terms of education at destination.
Before joining the MPC, Rezart Hoxhaj was a lecturer at the University âIsmail Qemaliâ of Vlore (Albania) and a CERGE-EI fellow. He was awarded a joint PhD by the University of Bari âAldo Moroâ (Italy) and the University of Lille 1 (France) with the thesis âEssays on international migrationâ. He has participated in various research projects including:
âMigro â Village: from the ghetto to integrationâ leaded by the University of Bari âAldo Moroâ and the Puglia Region aimed at analysing the formation of ghettos of immigrants working in agriculture in the Puglia Region.
âA study of the communication channels used by migrants and asylum seekers in Italy, with a particular focus on online and social mediaâ commissioned by DG Home.
