Labour migration and mobility are, and will continue to be, key dynamics in the Euro-Mediterranean region. They are central to the social, economic and political development of the region. As a direct result, they are also key components of relations between the European Union, EU member states and countries in the Middle East and North Africa. The European Union needs therefore to devise a long-term comprehensive governance model. This event, co-organised by the Migration Policy Centre (MPC) at the European University Institute (EUI) and the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS), will provide an opportunity to debate the future governance of migration in Europe.

The debate will be opened by keynote speeches by Eugenio Ambrosi, Regional Director of the Regional Office of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) for the EU, Norway and Switzerland, and Theo Francken, Belgian Secretary of State for Asylum and Migration.
Everyone is welcome to attend. However, given the limited capacity of the room, we would kindly ask you to fill in the registration form.

Photo, Audio and Video recording will take place during this event for the purpose of creating awareness and distributing information on the event.

Interviews to experts on migration were carried out at the event. Learn more.
