Alessia Bacchi

Research Associate
Alessia Bacchi is a member of the RuMit’s research team that studies youth rural migration in Tunisia, its determinants and its impact on food security and rural livelihoods in regions of origin. She holds a Ph.D in International Peace and Security studies from the General Gutierrez Mellado University in Madrid, Spain. Her thesis focused on the migration and development nexus in relation to Egyptian highly-skilled migrants in Austria. Before joining MPC, she had been working with consulting firms as well as with INGOs and NGOs dealing with migration and refugee issues. She has developed a sound knowledge of the Mediterranean / MENA region through her Ph.D studies and her working experience in the region.
