Workshop – Tracking Global Population Mobilities: Conceptual, Measurement, And Analytical Challenges
This is a kick off workshop of the Global Mobilities Project at the Migration Policy Centre, RSCAS. The workshop will outline and discuss the key demographic, economic, legal-political and sociological dimensions of human cross-border geographical and virtual mobilities. Conceptually, which kind of data is needed to track such mobilities? Technically, what are the main data accessibility and measurement issues to face in view of constructing a Global Mobility Database? Analytically, how should data be exploited and presented to different audiences?
To answer such questions, the workshop summons social scientists from different disciplines, big data experts, scholars and representatives of stakeholders in the large field of human cross-border travels and connections.
