Migration Summer School

  • Central topic in public political debate in Europe.
  • Unique opportunity to network with other participants.
  • International and multicultural environment.
  • 7 Scholarships funded by STG on a merit basis.

The Migration Summer School is organised by the Migration Policy Centre (MPC) at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy. The two week-long academic program was launched in 2005. Since then, the Centre has welcomed a total of 415 participants from Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and the Americas. Every year we look forward to welcoming an enriching mix of postgraduate students, civil servants, officials at international organizations, representatives from NGOs and other civil society organizations, journalists, policy analysts, and teachers from around the world.

During the two weeks, participants attend lectures, inter-active workshops and debates held by members of the MPC as well as other academics and policy professionals, in addition to time for independent study and research. The aim is to contribute to a deeper understanding of the study of migration by combining insights from political, economic, sociological, legal and anthropological approaches to the topic. The Summer School is also a unique opportunity to network with other participants from throughout the world and have access to some outstanding scholars in the field.
