The Carim East network experts met in Kiev for a two-day seminar to discuss the primary results of the research programme on the effects of labour migration on the countries of origin. The transversal topic was approached from three different perspectives in line with three disciplines represented in the project. The demographers and economists underlined the problematic nexus between migration, population dynamics and labour market characteristics in the researched countries. Lawyers discussed in depth the rights and obligations of migrants under various regional. bilateral and national frameworks. Socio-political module focused on the links between migration and social inclusion. The final research results will be published on the project website in the summer.
